BILLS BILLS BILLS
Bills Bills Bills is a collection of 20 short poems printed in a receipt format on a 80mm thermal receipt printer.
As per rule, cashiers always have to ask “Do you need your receipt?”
In everyday shopping the printed receipt is that exact part of the experience that nobody seems to take or keep. I am fascinated in this printed evidence of spending and dare to give it a new meaning. Words become the purchased items itself. Every receipt holds a poem.
*A 80mm thermal printer within a gallery space could be imagined as an interactive piece.
It could be programmed to continuously print little poems typed by visitors or thought by the artist in real time for a specific timeframe of the exhibition.
